Leadership and Board Chair Coaching

  Strengthen How You Lead When It Matters

Experienced leaders rarely need someone to give them a generic list of leadership traits.

They may, however, benefit from a disciplined place to think, test judgment, examine patterns, prepare for difficult situations and work deliberately on the few leadership changes that matter most.

C360 Leadership & Board Chair Coaching begins with a real responsibility and one to three observable development priorities. The work connects reflection to actual decisions, relationships, conversations, meetings, change and accountability.

Who this is for

The work is designed for:

  • Board Chairs;
  • CEOs and Executive Directors;
  • senior executives and CXOs;
  • owners and founders;
  • and selected senior leaders carrying substantial responsibility.

Typical areas of focus may include:

  • judgment under uncertainty;
  • strengthening or rebuilding trust;
  • consequential decisions;
  • difficult relationships and conversations;
  • Chair–CEO/ED effectiveness;
  • boardroom facilitation and director dynamics;
  • accountability and follow-through;
  • leadership transition or increased responsibility;
  • leading change;
  • communication when the stakes are high.

The coaching is built around change, not conversation alone

We identify a small number of changes that matter in your actual leadership context.

Then the work moves through a disciplined process:

Understand → Listen → Choose → Practise → Involve → Measure → Sustain

The complete C360 operating path also includes qualification, contracting and a deliberate close rather than automatically extending the engagement.

You may work on how you:

  • prepare for an important conversation;
  • lead a difficult board or executive discussion;
  • respond to disagreement;
  • create greater clarity;
  • make and communicate a consequential decision;
  • hold people accountable without damaging trust;
  • manage competing interests;
  • or change a leadership pattern that is no longer serving you or the organization well.

The goal is not a vague feeling that coaching was useful.

At the beginning, we define the leadership changes we are trying to make and what observable progress could reasonably look like. During the engagement, we examine evidence, practise new approaches and review what is actually changing.

Not every meaningful leadership outcome can be reduced to a number, and the work does not pretend otherwise. The goal is  credible signs of meaningful progress in how the leader thinks, decides and leads

Purpose, goals, reporting boundaries and any stakeholder involvement are agreed in advance so the leader has the privacy necessary for serious coaching and the organization understands what it can appropriately expect.

If there is one leadership responsibility, relationship or pattern that you know deserves focused attention, that is usually enough for a useful first conversation.

Tell me what is happening. We can determine the right next conversation from there.
